When you got nothing left in the tank, but the DJ puts on “Vogue.”
It was first night of SF PRIDE 2023. The hour was close to 11pm. I’m in front of the Ferry Building where a small crowd of people were anxiously awaiting the lighting of the rainbow lasers down Market Street.
The DJ was spinning lots of queer anthems, which no one was dancing to. But I had no choice but to bust out for this one, even if I was dead tired from skating for several hours, wearing my clunky light up wheels and on a very crappy surface. Honestly surprised I was able to pull anything out of the bag of tricks! The crowd was so appreciative and sweet.
