I’m Brooklyn Bound!

Yes, that’s right, I’m headed to Brooklyn, baby! To the right is the Google Map image of the apartment building in Fort Green I’m moving into starting October 1.

After a pretty stressful past month or so of an increasingly desperate housing search, my friend Ryan and I fell in love with this lovely, spacious two-bedroom apartment in the hip and calm neighborhood of Fort Green.  Sadly, our chances of getting place seemed slim, with several other people ahead of us in line.  But due to some drama with the people ahead of us, the owners called us this morning and asked if we were still interested.  "Hell ya!" we replied and by 3PM we had signed the lease.

The pad has everything we could desire: two large-ish bedrooms, a full kitchen, decent sized living room, wood floors, and a backyard that hopefully we will have access to in a couple of months.  Plus it’s a short walk to several major subway lines, and surrounded by grocery stores, shops, hip restaurants, parks, and a mall.  And within our price range (barely).

What with an impending work transition, a couple of important side projects in my lap, and other personal drama, it’s nice to have one less thing to worry about.

Congrats Rik! Ft.Green is great – The gf usedta live there before moving ta CA. Super convenient neighborhood that’ll be affordable until The Brklyn Yards gets in. And you can walk to a Target!
