Seeking speaking gigs on virtual worlds, education, non-profit tech, and civic engagement

Posted on November 17, 2008 by

I realized today that I’ve never mentioned on my blog that I’m available and interested in speaking engagements, either in person or virtually. Among the topics I’m particularly qualified to speak on:

  • Immersive Learning: The potential and reality of education and virtual worlds
  • The Activist Avatar: the Use of virtual worlds to promote non-profit causes and campaigns
  • e-Democracy: How "new media" and virtual world technology is changing the nature of democracy

I have addressed a range of audiences and events, from speaking to 250
non-governmental organizations in the UN General Assembly, to moderating a virtual discussion between the prosecutor for the International Criminal Court and the former Canadian Foreign Minister, and addressing tech companies and non-profits at Cisco Systems HQ earlier this year.

I’m equally happy to appear at your event either in the flesh or virtually.  I’ve organized and spoken at a number of mixed-reality events, and they are always a lot of fun.

If you would like talk to me about how I might participate at your particular conference or symposium, please contact me at rik@rikomatic.com.

Hey, Rik. You may want to put your speaker services info somewhere prominent on your site. Back when I used to hire speakers for my company’s convention, I hated having to hunt for info. If it wasn’t on their main homepage, I’d move on. Then later, I’d find out that the source/expert actually did offer speaking services.

Thanks. I’m working on that. Just wanted to get it out there and then can add elsewhere on the site.
